Où trouver des cours de langue et qui les finance ?

Dans le canton de Berne, il existe de nombreux cours de langue (allemand, français), certains proposant également un service de garde pour les enfants.

Une partie de l'offre est subventionnée. Cela signifie que le canton de Berne soutient ces cours. Ils bénéficient de tarifs réduits (tarif moins cher).

Vous trouverez tous les cours subventionnés qui ont des places libres sur le portail web cantonal.

Vous y trouverez aussi des cours qui ne sont pas subventionnés par le canton. Les cours non subventionnés ne figurent pas tous sur le portail web. Il vaut donc la peine de rechercher sur Internet.

Inscription : inscrivez-vous directement auprès de l’école qui propose le cours souhaité. Les adresses et les liens se trouvent sur le portail web.

Cours de langue

• Les personnes titulaires du statut de protection S qui bénéficient de l’aide sociale doivent clarifier avec leur partenaire régional si elles peuvent suivre un cours de langue. C’est le partenaire régional qui décide quels cours elles peuvent choisir. Il prend en charge les frais liés aux cours et aux trajets. 
• Les personnes titulaires du statut de protection S qui ne bénéficient pas de l’aide sociale paient elles-mêmes les frais liés aux cours et aux trajets. 
• Les personnes titulaires du statut de protection S qui paient elles-mêmes leurs cours  peuvent choisir librement quel cours elles veulent suivre (aussi des cours subventionnés). Elles s’inscrivent elles-mêmes, directement auprès du prestataire. 

Tests de langue et certificats reconnus

• Les personnes titulaires du statut de protection S qui bénéficient de l’aide sociale doivent clarifier avec leur partenaire régional si elles peuvent faire un test de langue et si le partenaire régional en couvre les frais.
• Les personnes titulaires du statut de protection S qui ne bénéficient pas de l’aide sociale paient elles-mêmes les frais du test de langue. Elles peuvent choisir librement quel test elles veulent faire. Elles s’inscrivent elles-mêmes, directement auprès du prestataire. Le canton ne couvre pas les frais des tests et des certificats.

In the canton of Bern, there is a wide arrange of options concerning language courses (german courses, french courses), some of them with childcare.

Some of the courses are subsidized. Which means: The Canton of Bern funds the courses for them to be cheaper for the participants /students.

On this website you will also find courses which are not subsidized by the Canton of Berne. And: not all of the language courses, which exist, are listed on this Website. So it is a good idea to also search the internet for further suitable language courses.

Language courses

• Persons with status S who receive social assistance must clarify with the regional partner whether they can attend a language course. The regional partner decides which courses they can attend. The regional partner pays the course costs and travel expenses. 
• Persons with S status who do not receive social assistance pay the course and travel costs themselves. 
• Persons with status S who pay for the course themselves are free to choose which course they attend. They can continue to attend subsidised courses. They register themselves directly with the provider.

Language tests and recognised certificates

• Persons with S status who receive social assistance must clarify with the regional partner whether they can take a language test and whether the regional partner will cover the costs.  
• Persons with S status who do not receive social assistance pay for the language test themselves. They are free to choose which test they take and can register themselves directly with the provider. The canton does not cover the costs of tests and certificates.

Free subsidized language courses

Until the end of 2023 Ukrainians with the residency status S in Switzerland can follow subsidized language courses for free in the Canton of Bern. The school will waive the course fees.

Free exams for recognized language certificats

Until the end of 2023 exams for recognised language certificates are free of charge for Ukrainians with the residency status S. Who pays the exam fees depends on, at which school you take the exam. There are two possibilities.

Possibility 1: You take the exam with a provider who also offers subsidised courses. In this case, the exam is free of charge. The provider sends the invoice to the Canton of Berne.

Possibility 2: You take the exam with another school who does not offer subsidised courses. The exam fees are paid by the regional partner. Condition: You receive social assistance. Clarify this with them before you register for the exam.
